The electric chain hoist is compact in structure, small in size, light in weight, efficient and convenient, and brakes. It has gathered the advantages of electric hoist. However, even the best equipment may fail. Here is a detailed troubleshooting method for the electric chain hoist. Come and learn more.
Failure one: the sliding distance of the heavy object is too large
If the electric chain hoist is in use, the weight will slide too far. It may be caused by the following failures:
- The friction surface of the brake is stained with oil. Just remove the back cover of the motor and wipe off the oil on the friction surface.
- The brake friction surface wears too much and the motor has too much movement. The solution is to remove the motor back cover and adjust the shim and motor rotor shaft transmission.
- The motor pressure spring is damaged. Replace the pressure spring to eliminate the fault. If the conical brake ring of the motor is damaged, the brake needs to be replaced directly.
Failure two: the motor does not rotate
If the motor does not rotate during the use of the chain hoist, it may be caused by the following reasons:
- If the motor is not used for a long time, the brake cannot be opened. If this fault occurs, you need to remove the rubber dust cover of the rear bearing and tap the motor shaft several times.
- The motor power supply lacks phase. At this time, you need to check the power supply and electrical wiring. If the voltage is lower than the rated voltage, the motor will not rotate. At this time, you need to wait for the stable voltage to be restored.
- The brake wheel and the rear cover friction plate are rusted and seized, so it is necessary to remove the rear cover and clean the brake surface.
Failure three: the motor temperature is too high
If the temperature of the electric chain hoist is too high, it may be caused by the following faults, please eliminate them one by one.
- Overload use or work too frequently. At this time, the electric hoist needs to be used according to the rated load and the working level of the mechanism.
- Lubricating oil has failed or there is too little oil. The solution is simple, just change or refuel.
- The brake has not been adjusted properly, and there is friction between the brake wheel and the brake. Re-adjusting the brake can solve this problem.
Failure four: the safety clutch slips at 1.25 times the rated load
If the electric chain hoist malfunctions when the safety clutch slips at 1.25 times the rated load, it means that the friction torque of the safety clutch is too small. You can turn the adjusting nut or screw on the safety clutch to the right to increase the positive pressure on the friction plate to solve the problem; it may also be the safety clutch damaged and parts need to be replaced at this time.
I have already introduced the troubleshooting methods of electric chain hoist, and I hope it will be helpful to everyone. Early detection of faults during the use of the electric hoist and elimination of it can effectively extend the service life of the electric hoist. If you cannot troubleshoot the fault, please contact your electric hoist supplier in time, and the supplier can provide you with more professional help.
