New Jib Crane Needs for Their Ships

Jan De Nul Group connected with Yuantai Crane when they were after a reliable jib crane solution supplier for the new jib crane needs. They need several sets pillar jib cranes to complete their ship maintenance lifting tasks. The ships are very high, so, the jib cranes were required to be designed as a high lifting height. The pillar jib cranes will be installed on the ship deck, and could help to lift spare parts from the ground to the ship deck.

Following are the detailed jib crane and hoist requests:

  • Swing movement with brake
  • In case of manual slew movement, provide “rotation slowing device”
  • Adjustable swing movement limiter (to avoid collision with other objects)
  • Lifting height: 3m (as indicated on drawing below, indicating the height from baseplate until highest point of the hook)
  • Maximum outreach: 2m
  • SWL: 2.000kg (indicated on jib by welding and painting)
  • Outdoor use in offshore environment
  • Hot dip galvanized construction

Electric hoist with following particulars:

  • Electrical connection:    1x230VAC, 50Hz (1 phase) or 3x400VAC, 50Hz (3 phase)
  • Hoisting height: 40m --> note that the column crane will be mounted on a construction on board of a vessel. The crane hook should be able to lower 40m from its highest position.
  • Hook with safety latch (i.e., spring-loaded sling retention system)
  • Outdoor use in offshore environment
  • Electrical control with cable
  • Operator should be able to control it from a position next to the crane column/foundation (not from jib end).
  • Jib crane and electrical hoist should be certified & load tested.
